With the new year approaching, I hope you are excited about all the great things to come in the upcoming year! I was thinking, a good way to start off the New Year is to have a plan for your finances in 2015.

I understand, sometimes it can be difficult to start saving money. You might not know how much you need to save each month, or feel you cannot work it into your budget. Well here goes a different and easy approach to reaching your savings goals.  It is called the the 52-Week Money Challenge. There are 52 weeks in the year so each week you deposit the number of the week into your savings account. (Feel free to save the money under your mattress or in your bank savings account)  You begin with $1 in week 1, and in week 2 you add $2 and so on.  The biggest amount you will deposit is $52.00 and that will be the very last week of the year so you can see the amounts you are saving are manageable.  :-) At the end of the 52-weeks you will have a total of $1,378 in your savings.

Now if you want to save even more, you can multiply the amounts by 10 each week.  So instead of saving $1 in week one you now save $10.  In week 2 you save $20 and so on.  If you try the my 52-Week Money Challenge on Steroids you will have a total of $13,780 in your savings.  Wow you can buy a lot of candy with that!!  :-)  Now I don't want to intimate you so you won't do this at all.  Start out with the original plan, reach that goal and then go from there.

I hope you are up for the challenge.  Did someone say Challenge??  :-)

We did not create this chart.  Feel free to print and it provides a great visual to see the overall idea of the challenge.  Click here if you would like a copy of the 52-Week Money Challenge on Steroids or send an email to  Thank you and good luck!!
